Anyone remember this weekly program in the 70's.
The band featured a blonde-haired lead guitar player that looked like Danny Kaye or Mr. Green-Jeans. The steeler was a real handsome dude who played a single-neck Sho-Bud. Who might they be? Thanks. |

Yes it was Hall Rug on a single neck Black Sho-Bud.. I have many of the old re-runs on that show.. Spider was on guitar with an upright bass man, piano player, and sometimes a guy on just a snare drum...
They sounded great! and the vidio quality is very good as well.
They most always had an old barn setting or in front of a fake house on the front porch.

| Actually I think Walter Haynes was the steeler the first season or two, followed by Hal Rugg and later Buddy Emmons and the Sound Factory with Phil Baugh. Also I believe Jerry Byrd played Rhythm Guitar on the first season or two. And of course the legendary Tommy Jackson on fiddle in the early years. And T. Tommy handling the announcer chores. |

| I may be wrong but I believe later on they changed the name of the show to "That Nashville Music". Buddy Emmons, along with Phil Baugh and the "Sound Factory Band" were the staff band on the show. That was the first time I ever saw Buddy Emmons twirl his bar around while playing. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Jimmy Dean was singing and here came a break and he said, 'Here's the Big E, Buddy Emmons". Buddy started playing and done a complete twirl of the bar and never missed a lick. I nearly fell out of my chair in disbelief. Get the Emmons video recorded live in St. Louis in 1986 if you want to see Buddy twirl his bar. |

I record the vidios off of the Outlaw Music Channel Awhile back.. I have many old vidios in my collection /...somewere around 200 to 300 old vidios i have collected over many years..I think i have vidios of about all the top steel players ... dating from the early 60s to the late 70s....
I have been collecting since i was about 16 years old, and alot are from private collections.

Thanks for the reply. Since you got some of "That Good Ole Nashville Music" from the old Outlaw Channel it must be a part of Willie Nelson's video library, so maybe someday it will get shown again sometime. Thanks again Jason |
