I recently picked up an LP of early 50's Pee Wee King radio shows. Bobby Koefer ( as I expected ) is the steeler on most of the cuts. Three of the tunes employ a Roy Ayres. He was - ( is ?) REALLY good. I've never heard of him. No mention of him in Joe Goldmark's book. Anyone know somthin' about Roy Ayres playing history ?

Roy Ayers was a fine player. I lost track of him about 1965 I believe. Great Tone!
