You guys that are familiar with the BMI/ASCAP scares and the applicable laws:

Can I,(or anyone),post an MP3 of a song that I have recorded myself, if I don't post the title, and get away with it? (maybe say "in the syle of...").

It seems rediculous that we can't record ourselves for each other's critique, for fear of being hauled into court!

What do you think?

Well if you don't put a title on it someone from this website will actually have to turn you in to BMI and get a $5 reward. I doubt they have MP3 Police checking every website on the Planet for violations.They're to busy putting the Iron Fist to the Pizza parlors !

I think the umbrella is way above our heads here.. don't use the title..most of us wouldn't know anyway !
