Is there a big difference in tone between a Rick Bakelite guitar and the later Model 105 Rick.? Did Rickenbacher make an 8 string version of the Model 105?

There's a tremendous tonal difference between the wood bodied Model 105 and the Bakelite bodied B-6 model Rickenbackers.
Rickenbacker never made an 8 string version of the Model 105, as it was a student/entry level model. They did make several wood bodied eight string steels, including the SW, CW, CW-81 (25" scale), and Jerry Byrd models.
