Was it Jan who was in a terrible auto accident that basically end their career?

Did Jan have a previous partner named Arnie before he hooked up with Dean?

Yep, Mike is right...Jennie Lee, the first hit Jan was associated with was recorded with a guy named Arnie...last name escapes me right now...when Dean went into the Army for his hitch in 1957 or 58 (The "Dead Man's Curve" movie was on the other day and I caught part of it). My brother was a big fan after the movie was on TV and bought a nice 2 LP set with a 30 page booklet that covered the "Jan and Arnie" release.

Name is Arnie Ginsberg another guy was Don Altfeld. Jennie Lee was penned by Jan and Arnie, Jan also did many songs with Altfeld, Brian Wilson and Roger Christian. One of my favorites is 'Bucket "T".

So sorry to see Jan go, I saw them at the Garden State Art Center in 1980, and I felt fortunate to see them. Jan sang, not well, but he was there. I remember someone throwing a beach ball on stage and Jan went to go kick it, but couldn't.

One of my favorite Jan songs was 'Everyone's Gone to the Moon ((K.King) Rumor has it that Jan wanted to do more serious stuff, though Dean wanted to keep doing the Beach stuff.

They really have a strong body of work that still is very likable today.

R.I.P. Jan- Craig Stock
