I heard "Why can't I keep you in love with me" on the radio yesterday featuring Vince Gill, with Terry Clark harmonizing. I can't wait to get the CD. It had an edgy Bakersfield shuffle feel that just destroyed me.Also, great guitar and steel playing! |

Don't ever recall that much Steel Guitar on Louvin Brothers Recordings, however I remember two of the Greatest Guitar Finger Pickers on their records, Jimmy Capps and Paul Yandell. Its a shame these two Greats weren't included in this "tribute". I think Greg has posted the same or similar comments. [This message was edited by John Floyd on 30 December 2003 at 02:23 PM.] |

While it would have been nice if Jimmy and Paul had been included on this project,J.T.Corenflos did a wonderful job! This is the best new CD I've gotten in a long time.btw, I think I recall Capps telling me once that most of the steel work on the original Louvin records was done by Jimmy Farmer.I think that Mike Johnson was the perfect guy for this tribute. He plays his butt off, and he also has a deep respect for the history of our beloved art-form. |

After the Louvins started doing seperate recordings, Charlie used a lot of steel in his material, from his first single album Less and Less in 1964 up to his second recording with Melba Montgomery in 1971. When time permits, I'll try and get some of his stuff up on the Rebelâ„¢, Ricky and Jeff site.

Got the album for Christmas. I was a big fan of the Louvin's when they were in the buisness, and of Paul Yandell. The band that I was in at that time done just about everything they recorded. I'd forgot how good of songs they wrote. Best duet ever in my opinion, Doyle |

It's also the source of probably the only televised opry that I've really dug pretty much from top to bottom. |
