Kind of a followup to my BMI/ASCAP post of last month... I have a client who does a non-profit music thing with underprivledged children. We make CDs for the teachers so that they can practice these songs. Some are public domain, some are homegrown but some are copyrighted pieces. She has asked that I inquire about what she knows as the "Fair Use Act" regarding the use of copyrighted music in a classroom/educational only setting. None of these CDs are sold. Can anyone help us out on this?? She really doesn't want to pay the $42 a pop for the Mechanical License if she doesn't have to. Thanks
