Mike, I noticed your ad where you purchased a Variax Modeling guitar....
rather than hijack your ad, I wonder if you'd mind responding here, when you can, about the guitar...about how you like it, how faithful the models are, ease of use, etc....if you have had it long enough to form these opinions.
Thanx for your time JO

I have a Variax and I like it a lot. I'm not much of a guitar player though. I don't feel qualified to do a real review, because I never had a Martin or a Strat or a Les Paul to compare it to.

It's real easy to switch models - too easy, in fact. Sometimes I accidentally hit the 5-position switch when I strum.

Setup is a pain, because to do it right you need to use the powered footswitch and run into both the PA and your guitar amp. That way you can play acoustic models through the PA, and you don't have to rely on batteries. But it's a lot of wires to hook up. I haven't taken it on gigs for that reason (plus the fact that I suck on guitar!).

I'm VERY happy with the sounds. I love the Martins, the Rickenbacker 12 string and the Les Paul the best.
