During the Gulf War, I sent CDs and size D batteries to the troops. Due to the anthrax scare we can no longer send things without a specific APO address. Go to this webpage and it will tell you under FAQ how you can get a service man's apo from a family member, etc. if you would like to send the troops the gift of music. Whether you agree with the war or not, the sad fact is men and women are willing to die over there. If those of you who WISH to participate would just send ONE of your CDs, imagine how much we could could do for their morale. www.anyservicemember.org/
I found the info under FAQ question #6.

I'm sure glad that Saddam Hussein and his regime are "Facing The Music" today!

Gee, remember the good old days when the big issues were, Anne Heshe's sanity or Calista Flockhart's eating habits and we impeached a president for having sex, when we should have impeached him for liking Kenny G. <-music comment. |

Don't put a gate on the bridge, David. The way it is, they might fall backwards climbing up there, and knock some sense into their heads!
Loved your post on the closed thread, but let's keep this one open, I imagine a LOT of folks want to check in on this one. |

We opened and closed with this song last night. I suspect we will open and close with it again tonight. Not a whole lot room for steel in this song, but it's quite appropriate for the times in my opinion. |

No prob, David. My thinking was anyone who was anti-war would know what Haggard's song was about and would pass. Those who wanted to support the troops would have a webpage telling them how. I didn't mean to set anyone off...oops! The good news is, because I went to the recruiting office for info, I have been invited to sing the National Anthem at our Stockton Ports baseball game on July 19th. I am phyched!
