Help! I've been playing 8 string lap steel for about 8 months now and still struggling with the right hand technique. I still have trouble palm blocking. Will changing the shape of the picks allow me a better angle to the strings and how do you guys prefer your picks? (do you bend them to any certain angle etc..?) Any info and support will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Brian

Brain, go to the Pedal Steel: Technical category of the Forum, and check out the thread called "Blocking Technique Help", Missy James. It applies to lap steel as well as pedal steel.

It's got plenty of good advice among which I think you'll find some pick angle comments. If it doesn't answer your question, bring it back up.
