Gold Tome banjos makes both fretted and fretless banjo basses. I've tried both out, and although the fretless model is a loser, the fretted one sounds terrific. It's a whole new bass sound. Really cool.

I want one. If I could afford to, I'd buy one.

I often wondered what a resonater
metal-bodied bass would sound like.

In times past, I have done jobs with
a fiddle player, where we walked around malls, and played without electricity.

The wooden-bodied basses just didn't have enough volume or fatness, so we used guitar, fiddle, and four-string banjo.

A banjo bass would have been a nice touch, visually as well as sound-wise.

The day will come B0b, when you will stop denying your problem and enter a twelve fret program. Now repeat after me, "Earl Scruggs is my idol!" (grin)

I've made my point,
I don't think he's convinced.
