She was a class act, and one that all Americans can be proud of. She had a great voice, and knew how to sing. |

One of the voices from my era of 78's
I was told when my aunt bought home Botch A Me in 1952, my great aunt said what the heck is it. My older brother was 6 months old and it was probably one of his first mimic's. I got to know the flip side On the First Warm Day in May.
It's a bit worn but I still have that 78.
My grandmother loved This Old House.
I will play my Rosemary CD along with Happyfeet and my Hillbilly collection with Tony Pastors version of I'm My Own Grandpa.

Who can forget her great movie "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Vera-Ellen where she played Bing's love interest and her wonderful vocals in that one. She was a class act for sure and really multi-talented. I loved the tune she did in the club when she left her sister at the Ski Resort and went on her own. What a strong performance!

How did I forget all her exposure through her childrens songs featured on Captain Kangeroo? Those skits were the Burt and Ernie of my generation

I remember watching a special on TV a number of years ago featuring Rosemary Clooney, Bob Eberly, Tex Beneke along with Nelson Riddle and his orchestra. The one tune that stands out was Rosemary & Tex singing "Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree". They were self made Legends. |

Mike,
Sorry, I never said I was a musician.
I know the forum is more for steelplayers.
I realize this is under Music, my mistake. She was a great singer! My condolences to her and her family.

Rosemry was a great person as well as a great singer. Her singing was so warm and honest. She could sing anything. She sang a lot of Jazz songs, but if she wanted to, she could have been a great Country singer.
I am old enought to remember seeing her in the orignal movie "White Christmas".
She was one of the good ones. She will be missed........al |
