Gary has decided to leave the group and has signed a songwriting contract. It's also possable Jay McDowell the bass player is leaving.

Janice, you always know everything. Now, be sure to tell me... in advance... when Don Herren starts to think about leaving the steel chair, okay?

Is he the one who plays the lead guitar on a Gretsch or the other one?

I don't think the band is "biting the dust" as much as the "retro" resurgance is/has.
Anytime Brian Setzer makes a come-back there will be a few BR549's that will catch a ride on the wave, which history shows to be good for a few years at best.
Here in Portland anything "retro" was soooo cool for a few years...
Now nobody would be caught dead in that "look".
It's soooo 5 minutes ago!

I'm still a huge Louie Prima fan myself.

Uh-oh....

Looks like me and the Retrobillies might be knockin' on a whole lot fewer record players with the new CD I just sent to the manufacturer, due to be out mid-March.

Well, I hope that as long as there's steel players older than I am, somebody may listen to my stuff!! Of course, players in that category are getting fewer and farther between.

Geez, whenever I go into my fave record shop and buy the likes of Gene O'Quin and Tommy Duncan they always mention that they keep several copies so not to sell out.

Donny, howdy neighbor! I play bass and sing about once a month up in Fells Point. E-mail me and I'll let ya know when, maybe I could actually meet another steel player from around here (doesn't seem to be that many).

Hey Herb,
The status of the retro-resugence aside, I'm sure many a steel picker and many other folks, including myself, will enjoy your CD, as we do your previous work.
If you have rhythm tracks with all the solos taken out, please put one aside for me and I'll pick it up in Dallas.
See ya soon!
Pete
