If I had to pick just one it would probably be "Sha-Maria" with Moon's Cajun Licks.

Wynn recorded a great tune that unfortunately didn't go anywhere entitled "Love Ain't Worth A Dime Unless It's Free."

I don't know if it's my favorite 'cause he had some really fine tunes, but this one deserves wider recognition.

I like "Slightly Used" with it's great sassy intro and solo.BTW,A lot of Moon's licks are hard to get note for note w/standard E9 changes.

I work with a singer that is a Wynn Stewart fan and was a close friend. He does a lot of his songs, many I never heard before. Of the ones he's been doing lately, I like Keeper of the Keys the best.

"Playboy" and "Couples Only". The lyrics of theses two songs showed the opposite ends of the "swingin'single" bar hopping lifestyle of the early 60's. And of course both songs exemplified the emerging West Coast sound beautifully. "They call me a playboy while I'm making my rounds" and , "I'm so lonely, couples only, tonight." Wow, Great stuff!

Didn't Wynn have the original of a good shuffle, "I'm Gonna Kill You"? If so that's my favorite. If not then its Pretty World.

Bob Wills had an old swing tune called "You Don't Care What Happens to Me". Wynn cut it as a ballad and I think it had more emotion than any other ballad he ever cut. I also like "The Tourist". For uptempo stuff I'd say "Another Day, Another Dollar" and for the good old country shuffle category "One More Memory" would be my pick.

this is pathetic cause I've been singing it in bands since I was 20. Not sure what the name is, but I think its "Does he love you like I do". Good instrumentation, good writing, and Wynn could just flat out sing.

"That'sthe Only Way to Cry" is a standout.

In the surprise steeler category, Buddy Emmons' 1971 (uncredited) harmonic intro on the unissued "You Can't Take It With You" takes the cake. Not what you usually associate with Wynn, but what a trip!

Oh--and if you'd like to hear these hits and rarities, sell your effects box and get the Wynn Stewart box, Wishful Thinking: 10 CDs of glorious alternative to the country drought.

"Until Then". I did the demo for him back in the sixties, but didn't do it justice. He sang it and did. Unfortunately it was never released. his sister Beverly and Don Sessions wrote it. Best, Boomer
