If you could chose just ONE song to put in a time capsule for future generations to hear what REAL country music sounds like, what song would it be? My choice would be "APARTMENT #9" by Tammy Wynette ONE SONG PER CUSTOMER PLEASE! [This message was edited by Larry Miller on 23 November 2001 at 09:37 AM.] |

Hmmm . . . somebody already took Hank, somebody else took Buck. Then I'll say "She Thinks I Still Care" by George Jones. Throw into the time capsule the story of George riding off to the local tavern on his lawnmower after Tammy took his car keys away!

My pick would be "Look At Us" by VINCE GILL. The lyrics are very romantic, a well-written song by two great songwriters. Andrea Zonn plays fiddle and provides great harmonies. But the frosting on the cake is the great STEEL throughout, courtesy of the great JOHN HUGHEY. I think it's one of the all time great steel parts ever. |

Joe! What fun would this forum be without talking about someone? But Toby Kieth? how could you possibly, Oh, never mind!
I agree! Look at us is the best I've heard, & if you've not heard Hugheys instumental version of LAU your missing out on something that brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it! kr |

Hank Cochran's "A-11" as recorded by Johnny Paycheck.
"If you play A-11, there'll be tears"
alternative:
"Pardon Me, I've got Someone to Kill" also by Paycheck |

"Big City" by The Hag.
I'd make it the version on "Live At Billy Bob's Texas". You get more Norm Hamlet steel that way.
