I listened to some samples from "The Road Less Traveled" on George's website, and it sounds like he's using some kind of vocoder effect on his voice on at least one song! What is this? Is Strait gone pop??? |

They are playing one of his new songs in Indy which was written by Merle Haggard. It is very good and he even sounds a lot like the Hag on it. |

Fred,
I agree he does sound like Merle. George is my favorite country singer. Plenty of steel out front too

Especially like Hag on "Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind".
Believe it or not, they played that the other day on country radio --FM- in Cincinnati.

Niklas, I bought the record and noticed the 'Cher-like' effect on George's voice on the song 'Stars on the Water' a Rodney Crowell song. I think it ruins the song, but you know the people in Nashville these day's flavor of the month mentality. The rest of the disc is good though.
