In our great city of Portland is the Sierra Peddle Guitar Company. I went there yesterday and talked to Don, the owner. He let me play their Lap Steel guitar. That guitar was something: incredibly melodious and warm sound, great sustain. While I am no expert on guitars, it was the best I have played so far. Is there anyone around here who plays that guitar? What do they think?

Hi, Surinder, there've been posts on here about these awesome Sierras before- ask bOb about his! I had a Sierra D-10 keyless a while back and never really warmed up to it- it seemed overbuilt and clunky to me- but those same qualities are what makes their 8 string Lap the awesome creature it is- Sustain for days, great fat warm tone with clarity still in the high strings, and a really nice ergonomic design that just makes you want to play for hours. I've owned or played a number of the "greats" in lap steel design and the Sierra is by far my favorite, hands down. Just wish I could have gotten one years ago...

I've heard nothing but good things about these lap steels, but I've never had the opportunity to try one out for myself.
