I've been trying out this little 15 watt tube one 12 beauty for both lap steel and amplified Dobro and so far I really like this amp. The big test will be Saturday when we play outdoors.
I've decided to leave my big wall of sound set up at home... too much stuff to haul...
and for leslie effect...
I've been using The Wakefield Shiver :>)
The stock speaker sounds pretty good... anyone here change theirs out?

| It IS a good amp, isn't it? I've used one as a parlor amp for a couple of years now and I love its tone. I replaced the stock Fender glass with vintage RCA tubes and it sounds noticeably better (not that it didn't before). |

| Mike, Those are great little amps, but I don't know if it'll cut it outside. Nothing really does, the sound just isn't contained like indoors. Hopefully you can run it through the PA too. Have a fun gig! |

Question about the Blues Jr - is there any clean headroom or is it strictly David Lindley "Running on Empty" (dirty) tone?

| Bill you can get a pretty good clean tone as long as you don't want a ton of volume. The B-jr has both vol. and gain plus a "fat" switch, with the fat switch off and the gain low you can keep it fairly clean. The only complaint I have is that although it has a spring reverb it isn't tube driven and just doesn't have that true Fender reverb sound. But waddaya want for 300 bucks? Mine sits so nice under the art table in the office too. |

| I have a new Blues Jr. and so far, I'm very happy with it. It doesn't have a great deal of clean head room but it has enough for my needs. Both my Gibson & Rickenbacher Bakelite sound great through this amp. My Tele is set up as a jazz guitar with heavy Flatwound strings and really sounds wonderful through the BJ. |

The Blues Jr. worked great out doors... miked up of course... but still
I was very happy with my sound and tone for both amplified Dobro (with stewart pre amp) and my Melobar CC-8 lap steel...
plenty of clean sound and loud enough too.
It's a keeper... very nice. |

One other comment...
I play in a string band with all acoustic instruments... so I don't have to compete with other very loud amplifiers and what not....
