For those who want to hear some "real" country music, with steel guitar . . . .

Just buy the album.

Glad I did.

And, yep, he carries a steeler in his band. A guy by the name of Eddie Gossin (sp?).

Darryl told me he'll always carry a steel in his band, because you've "got to have one for my type of music".

So, nobody believes me? Or everybody already knows this?

Take a listen to these tracks:

Track 10: Feels Like Work
Track 11: Is It Just Us?

I don't know about you, but I hear Merle Haggard when I hear those two tunes.

PS, for anybody interested in pictures of Darryl Worley (and his band, including Eddie the steel player), click on the link in my signature.

You'll find those pictures by scrolling down the left panel to the very bottom.

David,
It's hard to believe nobody replied. Darryl is another artist, like Brad Paisley a true traditional country singer with lots of steel.

Yep, the album is called "Hard Rain Don't Last", and here's the link to it at Amazon (with great reviews):
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004UAQJ/qid=989339162/sr=1-1/ref=sc_m_2/107-5103136-4475712

Paul Franklin and Mike Johnson do the excellent steel work on the album.

Track 12 (If I Could Just Be Me) has some great C6th playing. Can't tell if that's Paul or Mike, though (anybody know?).

Track 5 (Too Many Pockets) also has some wonderful C6th work on it. Great swing tune. (If it's not swing, don't blame me -- Darryl said it was ). And speaking of swing, would track 12 also be considered swing, or not? I guess I just realized I don't really know the definition of it.

And, while we're on Track 12, can anybody who has the album tell me what the heck they're doing at the end of that track? It's either guys just doing Donald Duck impressions, or maybe them doing DD impressions on the kazoo. Whatever it is, I like it.
