Topic: Getting Off The Subject |

Is it just me or all we all including me guilty of getting off the topic of a post. Awhile back a prominent player made a posting looking for a guitar he used to own and all he got was 26 replies of back-slapping but no response as to where the guitar was. I am just as guilty and that is just an example. I'm not pointing fingers or picking fights. Just want to know is it a steel player habit?

Unfortunately, many times we get off the subject. Or the subject gets beat to death and then it goes off in another direction.
No different than sitting around telling road stories, goes from one thing to another to another.
I know it can be frustrating to the person that originally posted the question, or someone trying to follow the thread but seems like it happens a lot. |

But what kind of picks are you using. Are they georgeL's or dunlops. Or is that pick-ups. I prefer a Ford.

Yes we (I) are guilty as charged. But I do hope someone will help Bruce find his old steel.(maybe the person that has it can sell it back for a couple 1000% interest..But we tend to get off the subject (kind of sort of) on just about everything...Ask your wife, girlfriend, and or significant other when ( depending on gender to be politiclly correct,,when they ask..HONEY..dis youfeed the dog,cat,bird.or whatever,,,,,"I will just as soon as I fix this pedal...string....pickup..or get this lick right,,or learn this song,,,,How did Herby do that?????I know that Paul does that slide and then picks and lowers..while raising..and hitting....Did you say something Honey????

You guys got me rolling with laughter. Speaking of rolling does anybody do Proud Mary on the steel. I remember her well from grade school. She only had two knees. But she sure was proud. Heard she married a guy called Gaylord, or Garth. Darned if I can remember. She had a great complexion. Her face would shine like brand new necks on an Emmons. Only thing is her voice had kind of a woody tone. Now where was I?

Mike, You did a heck of a job breaking it. What album did you play that guitar on? I know I have a copy of you playing it somewhere. Side's you can't break it in the left place. You know some players are left-handed. I remember seeing an album cover where they actually show BE's left hand. Looks the opposite of his right. Did he play on "Undo The Right" ?

Craig,
One of my all time pet peaves. And sadly in retrospect I am guilty of doing it too.
How many times has a thread caught my eye and I get real engrossed into the originators points only to see the thread deteriorate into the usual detours. In some cases it gets soooo far from the original thread's purpose, that there is not a smidgeon of similarity.
But that is life of course as Jack Stoner points out. I suspect we are all guilty more or less.
It would be nice though if we all gave it some thought and tried to stay on topic,
