I received Dale Watson's new CD yesterday, Every Song That I Write Is For You. First I want to say that the songwriting is wonderful as well as the musicianship. Ricky sounds wonderful.

This CD is very different from the usual Watson offerings. This one is very personal and from the heart. It is not your typical Watson CD of honkytonk music. All of the songs deal with the loss of Terri and Dale struggling with his emotions. I can only imagine how difficult it was for him to write the songs and for the band to record them.

I had the opportunity to meet Terri last July when Dale did a couple shows in MN. She was a wonderful person and having met her, the songs put a lump in my throat. One of my favorite songs is Our First Times and Our Last Times. One of the songs Dale sang on the Opry in Dec.

A friend of mine saw Dale and the guys in Austin last week and picked up a copy for me.
I'm assuming Dale is selling them at the shows. This one is on the Dale Watson label. I may be wrong, but I think this is one of the new CDs that Dale is negotiating with a new label. Along with the Live in London CD.

Thanks for the reply, Steve.

I really think Dale is one of the most "important" new(ish) country performers around today.

I hope that cd becomes available on line or via mail soon.

(...and I hope next time they come up to New England, that the show I go to doesn't get cancelled like last time!)

hey indeed, this is new news!!.... I've been anticipating the London live coming out sometime soon and really looking forward to that - but this must be a recent studio cd that DW and the guys must have kicked out on a tight timeframe over the winter here??!?!

Ricky, if you're looking in - would be curious to know and if indeed only available at gigs??... at the present time anyway??!?!
thanks - Neil H.

Well thanks guys for the interest. This new CD we cut in the studio during the Holidays; is called "Every song that I write is for you"> and like Steve said, it's songs Dale Wrote of the loss of his Fiancee.
Dale is working on a Record deal right now to release that CD; with 4 more songs added. But the one that is out now; can be picked up at the shows. You can try and get it from our Road Manager>Donny at> giant130@aol.com >but not guarentee.
The "Heart of Stone" Live in London CD will be out with the new Record deal also.
So there is the story right now; and The new Dale Watson site will have all info on it as the site continues to built>but here is the new site> www.dalewatson.com >and check in on the news there as this stuff unfolds.
Have fun.

Looks like you guys are spending too much time in Austin over the next couple of months. When you headed back up to The Heartland?

Oh, I get it. You mean road trips to Austin.

Perhaps you're right about that.
