I heard on a radio program this morning that the BBC did a study on American music tastes and claim Country has slid to 3rd place. Apparently, it was in 1st a few years ago. I can't verify this online, but i don't know why they would mention this on air if it wasn't true. It was on a rock station.

What were numbers one and two? (Somehow I doubt that they were western and Hawaiian. )

I think it was Rap/HipHop, then Pop/Rock - or vice versa. I don't recall as the main point they were making was that Country was on a consecutive slide.

I've heard that Native American music is gaining in popularity.
