Does anyone know what became of Mark Linkous' Sparklehorse?
Their website is down for quite some time now and I wasn't able to get information via the web. All fan-sites are hopelessly outdated.

I remember hearing their first CD "Vivadixiesumbarinetransmissionplot" for the first time in `96. I was shocked. They hit the musical vision I had developed for myself dead on and with a perfecion I never had imagined. I quit writing songs back then and concentrated on arrangements which turned out to be the right desicion...

Oops, I got carried away... sorry

To be honest I never followed them any further than the "Vivadixiesumbarinetransmissionplot" set, after a pretty cool revue in Spin magazine I might add.
That was oe of the many that got pinched from my house, and I didin't get enough insurance money back to claim my whole collection, so a lot of stuff didn't get replaced, that was one of them, but the other day I realised that pretty much my whole Volient Femmes collection was gone, not to mention all the rare stuff that is now deleted and so far unreplaced.
I had totally forgotten about Sparklehores, wow what a blast.

Hey Jason,

so sorry to hear of your loss. When did that happen? Looks like somebody knew what he was doing...
I always think that good taste belongs to the good guys, but that's obviously wrong.

I think "good morning spider" was even better than "Viva" and it could have been perfect if David Lowery weren't allowed to infiltrate this great band with his "college-rock-terror". So I hope they chose another producer if there is another album.

Oh Martin it was a while back, maybe mid 1998.
They pried open a window, grabbed my old school bag (then my work bag) and grabbed 85 Cds, you cannot believe how freaky it is when you've been out for 45 minutes, come back with a couple of friends who immediately start-up the PC, and while ythey're doing that I go over to grab a CD from the rack, grab empty air and look around thinking..now why did I hide all those CDs.. oh..man I've been robbed!

That was fun, although my girlfriend had the cap pinched from the supermarket car park one time when she had a full trolley of food shopping, we'd only had it a week at the time!.. now that must have been fun..
