Marty Martel's latest editorial includes this statement: "I will continue to book the Legends of the Grand Ole Opry and I will start using a steel guitar on those shows that I book."

Looks like those of us that e-mailed him about no steel in the Illinois show got to him.

Jack; I am sure Knowing Marty with all that he had to do to get the Show booked, make accomodatiions, that he never gave it a thought until the show when no steel was present. They use different bands and most have Steels. Like Jim Ed's,Jimmy Dickens,Stonewall,Jeannie Shepard,Bill Anderson and more.Marty loves Country too much. I myself threw a few tongue and cheek remarks on the forum. Maybe he will Give ole Smiley a call ,Smiley would fill in great anytime. Won't be long before you will see Paycheck included on those shows. And plenty of steel. Wish one would come our way.
