I want to fit new pickups into my recently-acquired 'Commodore' lap steel' It's a copy of a two-pickup Fender. Looks like any Strat-size pickups would fit. The wiring as for a Fender Stringmaster means that the pickups are wired in series with a 'mixer' pot. As the 'neck' pickup is mixed in, the bottom end comes in, but the top-end bite disappears! May try wiring them in parallel, but any suggestions for which pickups? I'd like to try for a pedal steel pickup tone - if they're humbucking or low-noise, even better!

Try two Semore Duncan stringmaster pickups.
