Heard today's segment on NPR on sacred steel guitar. Great stuff! If you missed it, there is a bit of it on www.npr.org (search for sacred steel) but not much playing there.
Bob Stone - kudos and congrats and thanks to all of the sacred steelers for their fine work. I also have a suggestion for you - create a website called www.sacredsteel.com (there isn't one, I checked) and put up pics, info, soundclips, sell CDs etc. It's a fascinating genre and I'm sure lots of folks would like to hear more about it.
Best regards

Thanks, Bill. Besides being a great musician, Chuck Campbell is one of the best at articulating the interesting points of this tradition.
I plan on doing the web site--just a matter of finding the time. Seems like I stay swamped.
The new CD, which will feature live music from the SS Convention, should feature at least three steelers previously unrecorded. It is slated for fall release.
Thanks again.

Yes, this was very powerful stuff. My radio alarm came on just as the segment started, no trouble getting out of bed today! |
