This is an 8-string lap steel that was custom built in my shop. It is a new guitar with a fitted custom case. It was originally consigned for a customer that decided on a 6-string after the guitar was in mid-construction.

The guitar is of solid mahogany construction (neck through body) and features the best of both worlds- slot head construction on an eight-string art-deco design. It features a George L. pickup and a stainless steel palm wrest that was hand-formed in my shop fastened with stainless acorns. It has Grover vintage-style tuners (18:1 ratio) and a tortise shell pick guard. The 'chicken-beak' knobs really stand out and the high-gloss cream finish of the guitar was color matched to the knobs. The fingerboard was reproduced from a 1940's Mult-Kord steel guitar. The pickup jack is fender style. This guitar has the 'through body' string attachment. The head stock logo in under clear coat and is NOT a decal.

The custom built and fitted case is also included with the guitar and features a large (2" x 11") storage compartment. It is tan w/brass accents and dark leather handle. The inside is a dark maroon.

The dimensions of the guitar are 35 3/4 inches long by 6 5/8 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches thick.

The dimensions of the case are 37 1/2 inches long by 9 1/2 inches wide by 4 inches thick.

This instrument looks great and plays great. It is currently tuned in E13.

If you are tired of waiting 6 months or longer for an 8-string guitar, here's your opportunity to own a one-of-a kind US-MADE 8-string steel.

Beautiful! It reminds me of the old National Empire State Building guitars. Well done.

I'd like to know the scale length and see what it looks like without the "palm rest"

The scale is 22.50

I'll work on getting a picture without the palm rest.
