Well I thought I sold this guitar! Anyway 1991 Black Zumsteel U-12 set up for extended E9 tuning by Chris Allen Burke, 7 pedals and 5 knees, this guitar comes with an anvil road case. Triple raise and lower. Pls email me for pics and or copedant. Asking $2490. plus shipping. Prefer to ship locally.

This guitar has the Emmons set-up also it is a double body with thin black pad, comes with "George L pick-up". Will throw in Bruce Bouten's instruction video and tuning wrench. With this extended set-up by Chris Allen Burke and recently adjusted and lubricated, pedal action is smooth yet firm and very cool changes on the Knee levers.

Billy, how did Chris set up the 7 pedal changes? Just curious about what he'd throw on an extended E9 with all those extra pedals...

Whoops and I do mean Whoops! This guitar is not an extended E9 but actually set up as a Universal E9/B6 which I apologize for not noticing before, I just got off the phone with my service technician, Chris Allen Burke and he confirmed that this is a Universal Zum. I can still provide pics and copedant if anyone is interested. (Thanks to my good ole teacher John Mclung for pointing out the facts)Asking $2300.00 with case.

Did you start out as a U12 player? Or did you start out strickly E9th and crossed over to a Universal tuning? Was crossing over to a universal tuning hard to do?

Terry, I started out playing a standard double 10 Zane Beck and then went to a double 12 MSA then went to a Sierra Universal 12 and now I have (2) Zums which are both Universal. It was for me an easy transition to change over although I dont play C6th a great deal, I prefer the Universal set-up because of the lower grips specifically strings 8-9-10 which are the same as your strings 4-5-6. Leila, the difference between the Universal & Extended set-up is the Universal lacks the E9th (D) on the 9th string. Extended E9 is a straight 10 string set-up with a low G# and E. There are many threads on both these set-ups just perform a search and it's discussed fairly well.

Hey pickers,
This is a very nice guitar. Billy has kept it beautifully clean and in exellent mechanical condition. All Zums are easy to work on, sound wonderful and play very pro. If you like the C6th idea but don't want 2 neck to keep in tune, this is the way to go. Everything E9th is there and solid too.
