New Kid On The Lap Steel

Greetings from the Catskills! I've played mandolin for 10 years or so and awhile back picked up a Dobro Mando. I got hooked on the reso/steel sound and recently got a Melobar Rattler. I'm looking for any kind of advice you could give someone with a music, but non-guitar background. I have the Arlen Roth video but it seems to rely alot on guitar knowledge (lotsa fun to watch though).
