Any advice on a good choice? My primary reason for buying one is to add to my lap steel's sound, but I would also use it for standard electric guitar. I've heard that a steel's volume pedal requires different characteristics than a regular pedal, but I can't imagine what they are (attenuation rate?) as these seem to be pretty simple devices . I heard good things about Ernie Ball pedals, mostly that they do not affect the tone/sound of the signal (pretty important to me). Any opinions and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Yeah Cliff, the Ernie Ball's are good, usually around $90 new or $350 on ebay
The Goodrich is even better, but it's more money, about $140. Either would also work with regular guitar, they are very transparent. |

I've also noticed that some pedals are designed to be used sitting down (Goodrich, etc.) and others work better standing up Morley and other). |
