Just got it a few days ago on ebay and its just not what I want. Bill Rudolph told me that this guitar was a 5 out of 10 cosmetically, and he was just about dead on.
Mid 80's model..It looks good from the front, all metal is shiny and scratch free, but the black lacquer was chipping and it looks like it was touched up poorly years ago. It really could use a nice re finish ,
It was refurbished by Bill Rudolph himself within the past year, most undercarriage parts are new, new fretboard, changer is clean and shiny, etc.
The copedent is an ODD C6 unlike any I've ever seen, with very few pedal changes.. The guitar will need a complete copedent set up...
Several of the knees do nothing, no pulls seem to be set up on them. but ALL rods, bellcranks ,springs, tuners are there. The seller just used this in a very basic tuning without many changes... It is a nice steel ,but I DO NOT like the keyless tuning setup, and I will never get used to it.
Another impulse buy on my part that I jumped on before I asked enough questions.. In any case, its for sale or trade.. I will consider any thing really...
I paid $941 shipped and will let it go for that amount or an equivilent trade.
Please do not respond here, I prefer dealing through email or telephone. thanks.. bob |

Who ever had that guitar could not make up their mind to what they wanted,at least that is the only answer i see.
If Bill Rudolph fixed it it would be in good shape now. I played several Willy's from the 80's and all were very easy to play.
Yes, Bill might have fixed it, but not in the condition you got it in , and thats for sure.Someone kept changing it around until they had nothing much left. So off to ebay it goes.
Thats why we deal thru members here on the forum, as you have a much better chance of getting something good, from a steel player who is using it all the time.

Steve.. I specifically asked in the post to respond via email.. We can certainly discuss pictures if you would care to email me.
Also,if you would care to send me your phone #, I would be happy to call and give an exact, detailed, hands on description of the steel, disclosing any flaws or problems, would even play it a bit over the phone, and if and when the steel is sold, if the buyer is unhappy with it for ANY reason, I will take it back with every penny of the purchase price refunded with NO questions asked.
That is how I deal... always....... bob[This message was edited by Bob Carlucci on 11 July 2005 at 09:43 PM.] |
