Posting for a local friend without internet. He has a Single 10 CLR Steel with 3 pedals and 5 knees. Black mica finish on a frame and a half with a narrow pad. Cush case included. He wants $1300.00 plus shipping from 61611 zip code.

The seller is Dale Musselman, and you should contact him directly at (309)699-6607. He doesn't have email so I will accept emails on his behalf and relay them to him.

He has agreed to cover the donation to the Forum.

Dale just bought a new GFI D-10 from Corson's Music.

I know what you're thinking... "What the heck is a CLR???"
Well, you'll have to do a search on here to find out the details. They are made by Charles Reece, and he doesn't make that many of them, but they are very well thought of by the folks that DO know what they are. I believe he usually builds push-pull guitars, but this isn't one of them.

If you want pics, I'd say to call Dale. Seems like he said he was gonna take some.

Although Charles is one of the best push-pull men in the world, he only builds all-pull guitars. GREAT all-pull guitars. I wish I had the money, I'd buy this sucker right now. Is the guy interested in any trades???

Well, I guess I went ahead and showed my ignorance. Thanks for the input Stephen. I don't know if he'd take a trade or not. You might want to give him a call. I'm with you tho, I'd like to have this one for myself too.

If I didn't switch to a U-12, I would buy this steel in a NY minute !!....Charles Reece builds some really nice steel's...I had one similar to this one that I sold a while back.
It was one of those steel's that I really did NOT want to sell ...It had a wonderfull tone and played like butter !!.....Someone is gonna be really happy with this one !!

I know that Bud Carter & John Fabian have both said the CLR guitars are one of the best made guitars around. Pretty big statement!

Look under Musical Instruments/Guitars.

Dale this is to confirm what you quated me last night, I will take the guitar for the price you quoted to me on the phone last night.
I called Larry Moore and Larry said these guitars are on line with Zum, and Emmons, also he stated if he did not have his Emmons he would buy a CLR in a heart beat. Also I see you advertised it for the same price, consider it sold.

Bobby tell Dale I bought the cashier's check this afternoon at 5:00, will send it in the morning by fast mail.
Call him and ask him to ship,. I think mutual trust still means something, it cost me just as much as him.
I have never understood why people want money in hand before they ship. Who is taking the most risk the guy with the money or the one sending the guitar, same amount of money.

Some day we will learn to trust some one.

Hey Ernie,
I called Dale this morning and relayed the msg. He said he'd planned to take the guitar to "Mailbox, etc", which is a local packer/shipper, so they can pack it up properly. Unfortunately, they won't be open till Tuesday. Sorry about that. Just relaying the msg. Congrats again on getting this steel.

Teresa at the post office said the check will be delivered Tuesday, so that will be close timing. I am looking to get to play this baby as i think it is a real good axe.
Larry Moore said it is as good a Zums or emmons, thats a hard act to follow.
Do you know the set upon the Knees, if you have time will you E-mail me the setup.
I play Emmons, but the D or E lever is Right left. The F lever on mine is Left left,. Other than that i will set it up as Jeff Newman, does I have all of his lessons. And learn to play it that way.

Thanks for your help in getting this instrument, I think it is a good one, I have been searching for a long time for a backup guitar. Plan to leave the Sho-Bud setup at home and take this one out.I am 75 that should say a lot of why i want a lighter guitar.

Hi Ernie,
I think you will be very happy with the CLR, once you get her set up the way you like it. As I recall, it has a basic Emmons setup on it. ABC pedals, and Left knee left is the "F" lever that raises the E's. Left knee right is what I call the "D" lever, that lowers the E's. Left knee vertical, or "X" lever raises both B's.
Right knee right raises the 1st string, and maybe the 2nd string too, can't remember for sure. And of course Right knee right lowers the 2nd string.

Hope that helps, and I'm happy to help you and Dale. Not a problem.
bOb, I believe you can close this one up. Dale is gonna bring the Forum donation to me next week and I'll get that sent in.
Thanks,
BD
