I heard from a friend last night that the King of the Dobro, Burkett "Uncle Josh" Graves is not doing too well...went in the hospital and had one of his legs removed. This is awful news. Josh laid the groundwork that all of us ride on today. Maybe if we all take a minute to think about him it'll help. He's a great man and an incredible dobro player.

That is terrible news Tab but I am sure all Joshs' fans would want to be aware.
I know that over the years he has given me many hours of listening enjoyment. Truly, a Master of the Dobro Guitar.
My thoughts and prayers are with him.

That is really sad, we have been loosing so many of the people that are the fathers of what we love so much in music, just these past few years! I never met the man in person, but when you spend so much time listening to him and watching his videos you start to feel you really know him and he seems like a really wonderful person. Our Prayers here are with him and his family.

Saw Josh at the local Sam's Club,here in Nashville,awhile back,& he was in a wheelchair,so there's a good possibility that he did lose a leg.Spoke w/ him for a minute,& he did,indeed,not look well.

Smiley:
From what I understand, it was due to poor circulation linked to an infection from a pervious surgey, which is I guess, about the time you saw him. After the swelling goes down, he will be fitted for a prosthesis.
I understand the amputation was done above the knee. I hope everyone sends him a card.
