Here is my long owned Tele. She is a 1982 model which has been given EMG (ala Vince Gill/Steve Wariner)pups, and a creme colored pickguard. The Relic'd Fender Tweed case comes with her.
This is a really nice tele for country. She's got twang till the cows come home.
There are a few bumps and scratches but nothing really bad. There is a small (less than a dime sized) chip on the bottom bout whcih you can see in the pictures. The frets are in good shape.
I will ship her to the lower 48 for $700.
Paypal is fine and the guitar will ship the next day.

Steve-
Check your e-mail.
I don't want the tele, I just wanted to touch base with an old friend.

I love that sunburst finish. I'm not real familiar with Teles of that era. Is this a custom shop model of some sort? The finish and the non-string through bridge/body have me curious.

Teles had one or two years with this bridge. Funny you should ask... When I bought it, the guy told me it was from the custom shop, but I never believed that. It has no markings which would indicate that. There are 18 people watching it on ebay. I'm really surprised it has not been scarfed up...but you never know with ebay.

I have an identical 1983 model. This was a stock color known as Sienna Burst. Of all my Tele's it is my favorite. It is all I can do to keep from buying this one! That is the stock bridge and tailpiece, by the way. A beautiful guitar for sure. [This message was edited by Ken Fox on 23 April 2005 at 04:50 PM.] |

That's called a Top Loaders. They mostly made these bodies for Bigsby use. but also made regular bridges with the holes on the rear end. I find you get more sparkle and less sustain. Great for country twang. |

Actually a Bigsby was not an option those years. Only on a Tele in the late sixties, per my Fender book on Telecasters. This identical guitar is pictured in full color in the Fender book. The Sienna color was offered a few years ago again by Fender. I bought my first Tele in 1968, custom ordered with a Bigsby. Wish I still had it!

Steve, that's a real nice looking Tele. Very fair price too!
It's hard to sell a guitar on eBay - there are so dang many . .
Good luck!

That was my baby! Only diff was a white pickguard. I could not afford another, so I got a new Japanes, 60's Custom, double binding and Bigsby. I had 12th Fret, in Portland, or doa fret dress, graphite nut and route for middle Strat pickup. I loaded it with all Bill Lawrence PUs and 7 way switching.
