Boy, here's a real piece of steel guitar history! I feel certain this steel is from the mid-50's and must've been one of the first ones Leonard built! I purchased it from a resident of Reidsville,NC (home of the Stadlers and Marlen) who said that it was built by Leonard for his (the seller's) brother.

This steel has no knee levers, and it has Leonard's original pull-release changer. I have set it up for photos, but I have not played it. I feel certain it will need some adjustment. The case is an old plywood job, but it's solid. I think it's probably the original case.

I've got $400 in this little piece of history, and I'll take that for it.

Rick

Rick,
She's very nice. I'll bet it has a nice vintage vibe too. Wish I could buy it to tinker with, but my wife would have me sleeping outside. This is a fair price too.

I've had some questions about the setup on this little guitar. I'm going to put some new strings on it on Tuesday, play it a little (should be interesting, since I'm not a lefty), and I'll post the results here.

Blessings,

Rick
