HISTORY: Guitar was built in 2009 to show at the Texas Steel Jamboree. Sadly, John Fabian passed away in January, so Carter did not have booths at either the Dallas or St. Louis steel convention. Al Brisco, of Steel Guitars of Canada, took over operations and the remaining inventory of guitars and parts were moved to his Canadian location. This guitar was among the last finished at that time.
I, the original owner, bought the guitar from Al in June of 2010. New price was
$4,545.00 plus shipping from Canada. Except for playing it for the first week or two, it was put aside (under the bed) until now. The guitar is virtually "new". Even the protective tape is still on the knee levers. There is no rust, no scratches, dents, or anything else that shows wear of any kind. This instrument is pristine. Notice the nice birdseye finish - even on the underside.
Alumitone PU's (both necks). Set-up is pretty much Emmons except the "E's" lower with the right knee left. Al set this up, at my request, with D9/D6. To change to the more conventional E9/C6, all would be needed is to change the strings to the proper gauges and tweak the tuning nuts on the changer. Some pedal/lever adjustments also may be necessary.
Asking $3,200 + shipping (conus). Questions welcome. Thanks.......Wes
