I just did a search here in the "tab" section.
I am now trying to transpose it to Key of G. Wish I had a simpler version.

I believe Doug Jernigan has a course for this song and you can get it from his web site. Anyhow, it used to be there. Might want to check it out. Everything Doug does is very professional and if you can play it like Doug, folks WILL take notice!!!

Roy you might find it lays out better in the Key of A to better use the open strings. Also that is where most guitar players will want to play it. (: |

I would be happy to just be able to play it, however the guitar player does it in G, will try and get him to do it in A if I can get the hang of that dang song.
Thanks |

Have the guitarist slip a capo on at the 2nd fret. That way he can play his "G shape" in the key of A. |

I have heard that Hank Garland wrote the tune as a means of teaching students and practicing the open G scale,,,hence a G tune,,,works real good for me in G (on 6 string),,, [This message was edited by Sonny Jenkins on 14 August 2006 at 06:38 AM.] |

Does anybody have a simple arrangement of this without all of the bells that goes with it. The Ricky Davis version is killing me! |

For anyone wanting to learn "Sugar Foot Rag" and "Orange Blossom Special" in a professional manner, pick up Doug Jernigan's Video course, "Intermediate E9th Part 1". It's available from Doug's web site.
