I picked up a copy of the above for about $5 at my local drugstore, and although the accompanyment and arrangements are pure cheese, the steel playing is great. The CD cover does not list players. The only other info on it are the words "Master Recorded in Hawaii, Mfg in Canada," and "distributed by L.D.M.I PO Box 1445, St-Laurent, Quebec, Canada H4L 4Z1".
Anyone know who the steel players are on this CD? I'm particulary enamored with the version of "Lovely Hula Hands". It's played in C6 with a high G on top.
Thanks

PS This is not a recommendation to anyone to actually purchase this recording - I'm sure its too cheesy for most but the most diehard. I *will* recommend a recent purchase, "History of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar" HOCD34000 available from Cord International or www.mele.com as a nice compilation of Hawaiian steel from the 1920's through the 1950's.
