I came across an old kraftsman lap steel at a garage sale and couldn't pass it up for $2. But there's a catch. It has been completely cannibalized for parts -- nut, electronics, knobs, etc. All that is left is the body, neck, head, tuners, frets -- all in good shape. How, and where, can I find replacement parts, short of finding another of the same instrument and cannibalizing it. Is it worth the investment of time/money to rehab it -- or should I look for another 'vintage' instrument. I'd appreciate any help here. I've tried the local guitar shops, etc. Thanks

Jeff, Is it beige in color with the fret markers put on by silk screen?
I have an old Kay lap steel and have seen similar ones with the Old Kraftsman name on them.
Mine is a lightweight student model and in good shape.
All the original parts are there...if they are similar, I could send you a picture which would at lease let you know how it should be.
