Hello bOb:
I recently hooked up with an 11 piece band including vibes, 2 classical violins, african drums & flute! I am using my Sierra lap steel and playing six string acoustic electric using an Evans amp. It sounds good but I am looking for more of a slide sound on the Sierra and not so Hi Fi. I believe you said you use a Mesa Boogie Maverick amp with one 12" speaker. i asked a Mesa Boogie dealer about the Maverick and he said it is only available in two 12" speakers. Is your amp out of production and is the Maverick with two 12" speakers the same as yours?
Thanks,
Len Amaral |

According to their web page at www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Rectifier_Series/Maverick/maverick.html you are correct. They are not producing Mavericks in a 1x12 combo configuration.
Mine is a prototype, Len, and I didn't like the stock speaker at all. The day I bought it at Zone Music, I immediately swapped the chassis into an older 1x12 combo cabinet with a 12" EVM. The Maverick chassis uses the same "sus-4" mounting system as the Mark series.

By the way, Mike Bendinelli (the lead tech at Mesa) does custom amp work in his home shop. He could probably cook you up a Maverick similar to mine. You can reach him through studioslips@jps.net . |
