was he able to use effects pedals chorus,delay...etc with a microphone?
Thanks In Advance |

I don't know the answer, and I doubt few people do. You should ask on the Jerry Douglas BB, where he is a frequent contributor. Perhaps Jerry Douglas would be able to share that information directly.
Or you could buy a copy of The Fretboard Journal and read the interview with Jerry Douglas. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I'd also recommend buying Fretboard Journal, but it won't tell you anything about the setup Jerry used in the 80's. |

He used to use a combination mini microphone installed inside the guitar in conjucntion with a piezo pick up, wired stereo and then with a stereo cable from the button strap/output to a blender pre amp. He has changed his rig set up quite a bit over the years. At one time, on his R.Q. Jones (now on display in the CMA Hall of Fame) he had an electro magnetic pick up at the base of the neck in conjunction with the mini microphone.
The pre amp blender he used to use was made by Richard Battaglia, former sound man for the New Grass Revival. Fishman also makes similar pre amps as does Rane. |
