There has been so many threads on Jerry Garcia and his steel work on this song I was persuaded to try to do it for my ClicTab Lesson Series in the hopes it might be of value to others. I hesitated to put it up but ..I did? Be aware:
(a)I dropped the tempo a "mite" so the music
can be followed easier with the tab.
(b) I try to play the whole song while the tab includes the intro, break and the ending.
(c)The guitar backup was an afterthought and
I made a second track for it. So all the steel work was done from start to finish with no backup. That accounts for any timing
infractions.
It was a learning exercise for me and along with many others I now more than ever agree that Jerry was something else as a musician. His brain was way ahead of his hands and fingers but he still came through bigtime.
An undisputed steel guitar classic.
The link is undernoted Song # 24.
