I don't suppose anyone has a tab of this great song.I am definitely not looking for anything like the lead break. That would be beyond me. Just a little tasteful backup?
Any ideas on how one would approach this?
Thanks
Bob

Why not play the main riff, something like (in Dm)

F#|----------------------------------------------------------------|
D#|----------------------------------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------------------------------|
E |----------------------------------------------------------------|
B |--6--------6~~~3A---1A-------4A---4A~~3A--3A---------8A--8------|
G#|--6--------6~~~3B---1B-------4----4~~~3B--3B---------8B--8------|
F#|----------------------------------------------------------------|
E |--6E-------6E~~3----1--------4F---4F~~3---3---3~~~~~~8---8------|
D |----------------------------------------------------------------|
B |----------------------------------------------------------------|

and then after it's repeated,

F#|----------------------|
D#|----------------------|
G#|----------------------|
E |----------------------|
B |----------------------|
G#|-------------3B-------|
F#|-----------3----------|
E |---------3------------|
D |----------------------|
B |--2A~~3A--------------|

instead of the last two chords...

And a variation of the riff, and octave higher, using B+C pedals

F#|----------------------------------------------------------------|
D#|----------------------------------------------------------------|
G#|--8B-----8B~~8----6----8B--8B~~8---8---------13--11-------------|
E |--8C-----8C~~8----6----8---8~~~8---8---------13--11F------------|
B |--8C-----8C~~8----6----8A--8A~~8---8---8~~~~~13--11A------------|
G#|----------------------------------------------------------------|
F#|----------------------------------------------------------------|
E |----------------------------------------------------------------|
D |----------------------------------------------------------------|
B |----------------------------------------------------------------|

Niklas You are the man!
So far i have just started the back-up, and with your help, it is going better than i ever thought possible.
I am really excited to see the solo.
After practicing and listening to that incredible playing of Mark K., i know i won't die a happy man until i can at least approximate it.
And the steel sounds even better than the lead guitar on this song.
I am going to make this my mission in life, to learn this song, no matter what it takes.
You have reached out over the internet for thousands of miles and really helped someone.
Thanks ever so much.
Best
Bob

Well, it's always fun to actually be able to help someone, especially by doing something I love to do! By the way, I found some mistakes in the solo tab that I corrected.

I've actually never thought about playing this one on the steel, but like you say, the song lends itself very well to the steel guitar.
