Who knows where the signature lick intro is played....the tune is in Bb. Is it a bar motion or a pedal move? Thanks for any help. |

Interesting, Ricky. A friend here in NY whose studying on Lloyd I respect a whole lot (as I do, you, too,) showed me his bar movement take on this and I said "but Ricky tabbed it with the pedal?!" and neither of us could figure that but I was convinced that he was right about that bar waggle (it sure works for me). So I'm glad you set that straight for me. With just the right touch on the pedal, the difference between the two can be subtle but with the bar move I can nearly convince myself that I'm nailing the sound. Nearly. Almost. Well sort of. |

Yeah when I was at lloyds house a couple years ago....we were messing with that exact Lick/intro(you know he cut this song on his new CD??ah...ha)...and he certainly does the bar wiggle...ha...but tabbing it with all those little squigaly things..ha..makes it tuff....so as to why I did the pedal....yee haaa....and glad you can do it the proper way as it DOES make a difference in the inflection; I believe that too my friends.
