Is this the song you seek? I haven't seen tablature for it yet.

Chlo-e (Song of the Swamp)
Music: Neil Moret / Lyrics: Gus Kahn
Copyright © 1927 by Villa Moret, Inc.

VERSE 1:
Chlo-e! Chlo-e!
Some-one call-in', no re-ply, Night shades fall-in', hear him sigh,
Chlo-e! Chlo-e!
Emp-ty spa-ces meet his eyes, Emp-ty arms out-stretched, he's cry-in'

CHORUS:
Through the black of night, I got to go where you are
If it's wrong or right, I got to go where you are
I'll roam through the dis-mal swamp-land, search-ing for you,
'Cause if you are lost there let me be lost, too
Through the smoke and flame I got to go where you are
For no place could be too far, where you are,
Ain't no chains can bind you; if you live I'll find you
Love is call-ing me, I got to go where you are

VERSE 2:
Chlo-e! Chlo-e!
Dawn is creep-in' through the tree, been no sleep-in' root for me
Chlo-e! Chlo-e!
Be no rest-in', got to go, got to go and find my Chlo-e

Brad
yes - I'm not familiar with the lyrics, but thats the title (fuller version).
It sounds like it ought to be a good one to play on PSG C6th

Chloe first hit the consciousness of steel players in the 1970's when Ry Cooder recorded it with Gabby Pahinui(steel) and Atta Isaacs(slack key guitar)on his 'Chicken Skin Music' LP. Since then Bobby Ingano recorded on his 'Steel Reflections' CD. I think it got into the Hawaiian steel world because it sounds very much like the Hawaiian tune 'Sweet Someone'.

It falls very naturally on C6 non-pedal(CEGACE lo to hi).

I didn't know Gus Kahn wrote the lyrics. Kahn wrote some great Hawaiian tunes such as 'Ukulele Lady' and 'Isle of Golden Dreams'. Check out the Gus Kahn biography movie 'I'll See You In My Dreams'. Danny Thomas plays Gus, Donna Reed plays his wife.
Great flick.

Gerald
of course - I've got that Ry Cooder album but I'd forgotten that was where I last heard the track.
I'll see if I can work it out on lapsteel
