John;
Here's a couple of easy ones:
Diesel Train: On the E9 tuning, with the volume pedal off, play 9 and 8 open right up by the changer. Quickly open the volume pedal for a moment then turn it off just as quickly, open it again and close it. Repeat as necessary.
Steam Locomotive: On the C6 tuning, with the volume pedal off, at fret 5 (or therabouts) play a palm harmonic, (thumb rake with your palm 12 frets higher for the harmonic) play strings 7 to 3, open the volume pedal, move the bar to the next fret up while slanting the tip of the bar about a fret higher. Reverse the process and back off the volume pedal.
Hope this is what you're looking for and that it's not to hard to figure out with the written word. If I lived in Ireland, I could show you a lot easier.

Thanks Ernie,I actually know the one with strings 8&9......but is there one where you slide up with the bar?
I haven't got around to the C6 neck yet as I've only been playing 3 yrs.

JOHN, I HAVE ALWAYS USED THE DIMINISHED CHORD. STRINGS 2,3 &4. STRING 2 IS LOWERED A HALF TONE. TRY SLIDING INTO THE 12TH FRET WITH ALOT OF REVERB. LEARNED THIS LICK FROM J0HN CALL OFF OF A PURE PRARIE LEAGUE TUNE...KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN...HOPE THIS HELPS ...

| I go to about fret 12, and press pedals B&C, then slant the bar with the nose towards the changer, and slide the bar up a couple of frets and back, twice, then slowly back it down to around fret 8. Sounds like a freight train passing and disappearing in the distance. |

it ain't a lick but i rub my palm ( right hand) on the strings back + forth to get that Loco-motion sound.
you start slow and get up to the tempo you want, and off ya go.
Don't forget to slow it down and stop when the rides over.
