In various "tunings" threads, I have seen it stated that in order to play "classic" or standard Western Swing licks, you really need the 5 note on the top string (i.e. E in the A6 tuning or G in the C6).
As one who is trying to advance from a straight major chord tuning to a 6th tuning, and feeling the lack of a "basic vocabulary" to work from (and also hovering somewhat between the C6 and A6 six-string tunings), I'd be grateful to anyone who could post some tab of some of these classic/standard WS licks.
Thanks in advance
Nick
