That one, if it's the one I'm thinking of, really grabbed me too; the first
time I heard the record I went nuts. I was
three thousand miles from my steel but I
just had to have it. I bought the CD just
for that lick. You'll kick yourself when
you see how easy it is (not so easy to
play it the way Buddy did, however.

I can't tab it but here's my description
of just that little run:

Key - C

3rd Fret........Don't allow any of
these notes to sustain
8, 7, 6, 6B (careful and difficult
8, 7, 6, 6B blocking here)
8, 7, 6, 6

Oh, nuts. I'm gonna get off and make my first try at tabbing. I'd do it here but
this little box is too small.

Attn: Tabbers (Tabbists?) How do you post
tab?

I'll email you the results (if I get any),
Steve.

8:30 a.m - I tried to edit the above but it
didn't seem to take.

Make that key of not .

Still working on a tab.

11:00 a.m. - Oops. editing worked.
It's key of C (however, Db might be
easier for some of us to get into the
IV chord (I sometimes find it harder
to work at the first fret).

Still working on tab including fills.

Thanks for your replies! I have been playing it: fret 3, 8-7-6-6A (in C), but it doesn't sound the same. Seems there's some fancy bar sliding somewhere in there that I'm not getting....any suggestions?

Steve,
The slide you're hearing is down to the first fret or 7th position; then open it up to the 4-chord or F. In other words: play what you've been playing, when you close up the C, take the 5th and 6th strings down to the first or 7th position; then open it up to F.
Hope this helps you out.
