Anyone care to post one or two of the above for us pedal-challenged?
Thanks

Bill:
I think if you check out the 1951-53 pages on the Steel Intros, Breaks and Turn-arounds site you will probably find some non- pedal stuff. Wasn't much pedal used back then until '54.

You come across something you like, give me a shout and will see if Ricky Davis will tab it out for you.

Thanks. I just checked out 1951 and I love 'em all! How about the steel break from "There's Been a Change In Me"?

Well I went and checked out the song and the steel player is using a tuning I don't use. It's the E tuning with the root on top I believe. I have it worked out on the C6th tuning; but the tecture of string combinations will sound different from the original way it was played. I can still tab it for you no prob> but if someone else uses that tuning and would like to do it; for it to be perfect; go for it. But Bill; let me know if you want it from me on my C6th tuning.

Hey Ricky:
I was messing with the intro (not the break) to the same song on my 6 string (high E) and it sounds to me like the intro is in C6 (key of A). Maybe the break is on a different neck? My Stringmaster is in pieces right now (took off the control plate to see if I could find a date, and now I have a ground problem that I need to fix) so I can't use an 8 string tuning at the moment.
If you think the break sounds good in C6, go for it, or perhaps there's another cool break on this page or '52 that would work better for C6, go for it. I really want to concentrate on that particular tuning.
I'm doing great with that stuff you showed me, but it's going to be a long road to where I want to get (half the fun, right?)
Thanks for everything,
-Bill

Hey Bill; the date is under the tuning pan; not the control plate. On the double neck stringmaster; there are ground wires that need to be stapled to the wood. Maybe one came loose. Don; I will check it out; Graham may of been working on it right then. Also; what page are the Mel Street songs on? I haven't found them yet.

Hey Don; those tabs should be working now. Glad you got the video; and hope you get something out of it. I Have the Mel Street CD. I only tab the stuff on the steel clips sight; but if you want me to tab something special for you; let me know. If you can get a hold of another copy of Mel; cool. But if you can't I might have time to copy it for you and send it. I'm headin' out on a tour last part of next week; so I will be out of the tabbing circle for a while. Yell back at me.
