At the speed we did it; it can be very hard to palm block, unless your Lloyd Green. I played it both ways and found pick block was cleaner and easier for that turnaround. If your not familiar with pick blocking; here is a small lesson.
Put fingers on 3 and 4 and thunmb on 5.
pick both fingers and leave thumb on string.
Put your fingers back on 3 and 4 and then pick thumb. Put thumb back on 5 and pick 3 and 4 again and so on and so on. Start that slow and really feel your fingers pull against your thumb on string; then with fingers on strings, really feel your thumb pull against the fingers that are on the strings while you pick that combo.
